Employee Development Summer Training Calendar

I am pleased to announce the Employee Development summer training calendar! Much of our programming this summer is in support of two new programs we’ll be introducing this fall, Self Service Time and & Leave and Performance Management, both of which automate and update common processes at the University. Below are the highlights:
  • Self Service Time & Leave and Performance Management Demos – Overviews for all faculty and staff (late August/early Sept.)
  • Managing at U.Va. series – we are launching the third session in the series, Competencies and Career Development, and continue to offer the first and second sessions, Managing and the new HR System and The Power of Feedback, at a variety of dates/times. These sessions are critical for managers and supervisors who will use the new performance management system.
Both SSTL and the Performance Management system require that employees use computers. We realize there may be faculty and staff who do not use computers in their daily work and do not feel comfortable with learning new technology. To that end, we are offering a new series, Introduction to Computers. Starting in late June, this hands-on workshop will help employees learn basic skills, from turning the computer on to using a mouse to opening an Internet browser.

Of course, we will still be offering many of the core programs you have come to expect from UHR – New Faculty/Staff Orientation, Integrated Systems training, Computer Applications training, Apple-certified workshops, and more, including a summer personal enrichment series and the Exceptional Assistant’s Network’s Annual Conference.
