| Work/Life Wellness: Hoo's Walking Program |
Join The Hoo’s Walking Program for UVA faculty and staff and take the steps to walk your way to a Healthier you!
Did you know that 30 minutes or more of moderately paced or brisk walking can help you control your weight, lower cholesterol, strengthen your heart, and reduce the likelihood of serious health problems down the road? Walking is one of the easiest ways to improve your overall health. It requires very little preparation other than good shoes and a desire to succeed, and can be done anytime, anywhere - without any special equipment.
The Hoo’s Walking Program is designed to motivate and support people who want to get moving toward better health. The Hoo’s Walking Program can help you set personal walking goals based on your current level of fitness and health, so it’s right for everyone. You can walk at work or at home, day or night… anytime you can fit it into your schedule. If you have a buddy to walk with, a family member, friend, office colleague, or your dog, you will find the experience even more pleasant.
How do I join the Hoo’s Walking Program?
