Faculty New Hire Orientation Guide

  • Orientation Location – Aquatic Fitness Center, Room 201
  • Parking is provided in the Slaughter Recreation Center parking lot
    (directions provided below)
  • Coffee and snacks: 8:00am – 8:30am
  • Orientation start time: 8:30am
  • Lunch will be provided at 12:00pm
  • Orientation conclusion: 3:00pm

Directions to New Employee Orientation in the Aquatic and Fitness Center
From the East/West: I-64 to exit 118B (Culpeper-Charlottesville). Take 2nd exit (sign-University of Virginia Information Center/Business 250 East) and bear right on Ivy Rd. At 2nd stoplight, turn right on Alderman Rd. Go about 1/2 mile and turn right at first stoplight (McCormick Rd.). Follow McCormick until road splits and veer to the right (toward Slaughter Recreation Center). Turn left into Slaughter Recreation parking lot. Please walk along sidewalks following arrows to the Aquatic & Fitness Center. Orientation is in Room 201 on the 2nd level.

From the North: Take Route 29 south into Charlottesville (Emmet St.). Turn right at Ivy Rd. Go to the next stoplight and turn left onto Alderman Rd. Go about 1/2 mile and turn right at first stoplight (McCormick Rd.). Follow McCormick until road splits and veer to the right (toward Slaughter Recreation Center). Turn left into Slaughter Recreation parking lot. Please walk along sidewalks following arrows to the Aquatic & Fitness Center. Orientation is in Room 201 on the 2nd level.

From the South: Take Route 29 to Business Route 250 East (sign will say University of Virginia Information Center) and bear right onto Ivy Rd. At second stoplight, turn right on to Alderman Rd.
